The School of Physical Education originated from Jiannan Wushu Gymnasium, which was the predecessor of Sichuan Institute of Technology. It is one of the earliest schools with strong strength following the development of Sichuan Institute of Industrial Technology. It is also one of the earliest private colleges to set up sports majors in Sichuan province. The School of Physical Education consists of the student management office, teaching management office, departments of social sports, leisure sports, public sports (student physical health standard testing center, extracurricular sports management center, and venue equipment management center), and a human movement science laboratory.

The School of Physical Education has 2 undergraduate majors in social sports guidance and management, and leisure sports; has 4 junior college majors in social sports, leisure sports, fitness instruction and management, and national traditional sports. At present, we have 2,200 students in physical education major; have become the largest sports talent training base in universities in Sichuan Province, and one of the schools with the largest number of sports majors in private colleges in Sichuan Province. The 2015-2019 graduate employment rate is 100%, and the employment counterpart rate is over 95%. In 2019, the number of undergraduate students is good, ranking the third among private colleges in Sichuan Province.
